FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Buffalo's "Wing King" Unveils "Gastro-nomic" Stimulus Package

Package Includes “Cluckers for Cash”!

It’s hard to think of anything that does more to boost Buffalo’s image and tourism than the annual NATIONAL BUFFALO WING FESTIVAL.  In fact, last year’s Labor Day weekend event attracted 78 thousand people to downtown Buffalo, where they consumed a record 27 tons of chicken wings.

Needless to say, that put a lot of money into the local economy and raised funds for numerous important charities, as well.  Of course, the sale of chicken wings does a lot for the national economy, too.  Some 24 billion chicken wings were sold in the United States last year.  1 billion were consumed during Super Bowl weekend alone.

Buffalo’s “Wing King” and festival founder Drew Cerza knows a thing or two about economic stimulus.  Saying the now-defunct “Cash for Clunkers” program created “clunkeritis”, Cerza believes he has a better idea.  The “Wing King’s”plan includes “Cluckers for Cash”, which he says will stimulate consumer spending on chicken wings, both at the festival and throughout the year.  In fact, the “Wing King” says “Cluckers for Cash” can add 27 Billion dollars a year to the nation’s economy. All it will take is for every American to eat one additional single order of chicken wings each month. In doing so, he vows, America will “eat our way back to prosperity”.  It can start at the 2009 festival, where 30 tons of chicken wings will be ready for purchase.  That’s more than half a million chicken wings!

In drafting the plan, the “WING KING” consulted his top economic advisors…all highly respected Americans.  They include “Hen” Bernanke, Paul “Yolker”, and Warren “Cluckit”.

The 2009 NATIONAL BUFFALO WING FESTIVAL, which will play an important role in recovery, will again be held on Labor Day weekend, September 5th and 6th, at Coca-Cola Field and include all the favorite festivities that have attracted national MEDIA attention year after year.

Festival highlights will feature the United States Chicken Wing Eating Championship, the Buffalo Blue Cheese Bowl, the Miss Buffalo Wing Pageant, the Baby Wing competition, the Buffalo Bowl Competitive Eating contest, and the Restaurant and Amateur Sauce-off competitions.  There will also be live bands throughout the two day event.  Best of all, this year’s “WING FEST” will again feature more than 30 national and local chicken wing eateries and vendors, who will sauce more than 100 varieties of America’s favorite finger food.

Hours for the 2009 NATIONAL BUFFALO WING FESTIVAL are Noon to 9pm on Saturday and Noon to 7pm on Sunday.  The festival will be preceded on Friday evening by the annual “HALL OF FLAME” induction ceremony.

Festival admission is $5.00 for adults.  Children 8 and under are admitted for FREE.  Sponsors include St. Pauli Girl Beer and Frank’s RedHot.

This year’s festival will benefit Meals on Wheels, the Alzheimer’s Association and Cystic Fibrosis.

Remember, you’ll get more “Cluck for your Buck” at the 2009 “WING FEST”.  Learn more at www.BuffaloWing.com.

Thank goodness…America finally has a Wing Czar!
